SUMMARY:International Macsabal Woodfire Festival
DESCRIPTION:The Macsabal workshop/festival held in the Zhujiazhuang village was exceptional. I am happy that I returned to Zibo after 6 years delay due to the COVID pandemic. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe venue is a restored village inside the Zibo City. It is dedicated to ceramic art with resident studies of local Chinese artists\, several large kilns and more to explore. It doesn’t feel like you are in the city. The fast train from Beijing was luxurious and comfortable. And the first banquet was great Seeing old friends who I have known for 10 to 20 years.

SUMMARY:10th China Changchun International Ceramics Symposium
DESCRIPTION:I am pleased to announce that three of my ceramic artworks have been purchased for the 10th China Changchun International Ceramics Symposium this summer.  Changchun is the capital of northeast China’s Jilin province.  The exhibition runs from August 5 to November 15\, 2021. \nThe Changchun museum/gallery will add these pieces to their permanent collection which includes works from 58 countries.  In 2020\, 9th exhibition also purchased three of my pieces. \nThe work entitled\, Desert Pine Tribute\, is shown here.

SUMMARY:9th China Changchun International Ceramics Symposium & Competition Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:I am pleased to announce that three of my pieces have been accepted into the 9th China Changchun International Ceramics Symposium.  Normally the symposium is held in August\, but this year only the exhibition will be held from August 12\, 2020 to January 7\, 2021.  The exhibition will be held at the Changchun International Ceramic Art Museum in Changchun\, the capital of northeast China’s Jilin province. \nSince 2011\, Changchun has held 8 sessions of the China Changchun International Ceramics Works Symposium (International Ceramics Competition).  At present\, the Ceramics Gallery has collected more than 800 works created by more than 220 artists from 51 countries and regions in five continents.  These are links to the Home page & the Gallery page \nThe work selected are a Red Diamond Globe\, a Winter Sun Flower\, and a Jade Sea Urchin Vase (pictured).

SUMMARY:International Ceramic Artists Forum - Zibo\, CHINA  (dates tentative)
DESCRIPTION:This international symposium focuses on the exchange of ceramic techniques and ideas. Invited artists exhibit works from their home studios\, create new work fired during the forum\, and give a presentation on the symposium topic. Visits to local studios and sightseeing are also a part of the event.  Taking place in Zibo\, Shandong\, CHINA\, October\, 2019 \nThe International Ceramic Artists Association (ICAA) was founded in November\, 2008\, as a nonprofit professional ceramic art organization launched and managed by the ceramists. The Association members came from more than 20 countries and five continents around the world.

SUMMARY:Two New Members' Exhibition 2020/2021 - The International Academy of Ceramics (IAC)
DESCRIPTION:My work WINTER SUNFLOWER 2020 will be exhibited in two INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY OF CERAMICS (IAC) exhibitions in 2020/2021. The first will be in  China beginning in October\, 2020 at the GUOZHONG CERAMIC ART MUSEUM in BEIJING\, CHINA. This IAC exhibition will then travel to the IAC’s 2021 GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND CONGRESS in ROVANIEMI\, FINLAND at the ARCTIC CERAMIC CENTER. There the exhibition will be on display in July and August\, 2021. \nThis a one year postponement from 2020.

SUMMARY:Visions In Clay - 2018
DESCRIPTION:My work “Winter Ridge Globe” has been selected for the “Visions In Clay” Exhibition at the LH Horton Gallery in Stockton\, CA. The exhibition of 52 artists is from September 4 to 21\, 2018. Gallery Reception: September 6 from 5 to 7 pm. The juror was Beth Ann Gerstein\, Executive Director\, American Museum of Ceramic Art. This is my 6th time in the exhibition. \nIt is one of the largest shows of ceramic art in Northern California\, and demonstrates the wide variety of style\, technique and artistry by accomplished ceramic artists. It is of artistic and educational value to the college students and community-at-large. Delta College has an exceptional ceramic art program\, founded by Bruce Duke\, and retiring professor this year Joe Mariscal.
