These vessels are hand carved or hand textured. Sgraffito vessels are wheel thrown or hand built, then brushed with colored clay slips or engobes. Prior to the first firing these vessels are hand carved. Mishima vessels are first hand carved and then colored slips or engobes are inlaid into the carving before firing. A clear or colored glaze is applied before the final high firing.
This high-fire pottery is lead free, dishwater safe and microwave safe.
